Nicaragua Canal works put on hold

Chinese company HKND, which hold the concession for Nicaragua’s transoceanic canal, has put the project on hold.

Work on the canal was to have begun in this year’s first quarter, but now HKND has announced that “the construction of the locks and the principal excavation will begin at the end of 2016”.
