Nicaragua Canal would affect 23,000 people

The construction of Nicaragua's Grand Canal would affect some 29,000 people, according to a study carried out by HKND, the company in charge of the project.

Properties belonging to some 7,000 families are along the planned route, said Kang Fei,who was in charge of the study.

The route for the canal is 278-kilometers long, of which 105 kilometers would go through Lake Nicaragua.
