Nicaragua cattle ranchers return surge in exports to $234 million in first half of year

Nicaragua’s cattle exports are booming. In the first six months of this year, they rose by $51 million compared with the same period of 2009.
In the first half of last year, exports of meat, dairy products and cattle on the hoof earned $182 million. In the same period of this year, exports were $234 million.
The leading market for cattle exports remains the United States, with 33 percent of the total.
