Nicaragua claims 14 percent surge in production from agriculture this year
Thursday, December 15, 2011
Nicaragua will report an increase in agricultural production of more than 13.9 percent this year to meet the demand from domestic consumption and exports, according to Agriculture Minister Ariel Bucardo.
Bucardo considered that, despite the heavy rains during the ongoing winter season, most crops have reported favorable results and performance.
As a key pillar of growth, Bucardo referred to the agreement between the state, employers and workers to set production goals, government incentives, working conditions and pay.
