Monday, June 20, 2016
The Nicaraguan government has expelled US political specialist Evan Ellis from Nicaragua, alleging “he didn’t have official authorization to do research on the inter-oceanic canal project.”
Ellis is an expert on the relations between China and Latin America and a professor and researcher for the U.S. Defense Department’s War College. Before the first 24 hours of his stay in the country were up, he was the object of an expedited deportation procedure.
