Nicaragua has $8.3 billion in foreign debt

Nicaragua's foreign debt stood at $8.3 billion by September of this year.

The $8.3 billion amounts to 83 percent of the nation's gross domestic product.

The debt increased from July through September, due to $176 million in debt mainly from private-sector companies.
