Nicaragua heads for a construction boom with 14 percent growth this year, chamber says

The Nicaraguan construction industry is expected to grow 14 percent this year, according to the president of the industry chamber, Benjamín Lanzas.

During 2011, the industry created around 10,000 jobs, a reflection of the sector's recovery, said Lanzas.

Many joint public and private construction projects are currently underway in sectors such as energy, tourism, housing and highways.
