Nicaragua heads into space … with help from China

Within four years, Nicaragua will have its very own telecommunications satellite, Nicasat-1.

The Nicaraguan Telecommunications institute is negotiating the purchase of a $300 million satellite from China Great Wall Industry. The Beijing-based company is the only one authorized by the Chinese government to provide satellites and space travel services.
