Nicaragua hit record of $1.36 billion in exports of garment and textile industry in 2011

Nicaragua's garment and textile industry reached a new record in 2011, when it reached $1.36 billion in exports.

The number represents an increase of 33 percent, according to the Nicaraguan Apparel and Textile Manufacturers Association.

This places Nicaragua at the top of Central America's garment industry.
