Nicaragua leads in female employment

Nicaragua is the world's fifth, and second in Latin America, with the highest number of women working in the hotel and restaurant industry, according to a study by the International Labor Organization.

The study also revealed that Nicaragua is number 10 in the world in terms of female employers in that sector.

In Nicaragua and Panama, 70 percent of employers in the restaurant and hotel sectors are women, compared with only 20 percent in other sectors.
