Nicaragua leads region in growth of tourism

The government of Nicaragua expects to end the year with $400 million in earnings and 1.2 million visitors from the tourism sector.

This would place Nicaragua in first place in the region in terms of tourism growth. The number of visitors to the country has already grown 11 percent from January to October this year, compared to the same period last year.

Small tourism companies have asked the government to ease access to loans from local and international financial groups to help boost the sector.
