Nicaragua makes headway on one million tourists

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

From the beginning of this year through the end of July, Nicaragua was visited by more than 604,000 tourists, a 9.7 percent increase on the same period of 2009.

The Nicaraguan Tourism Institute maintains that, assuming the trend will continue, the country will receive more than one million tourists this year, with earnings of some $400 million.

Tourists to Nicaragua come mainly from the United States and from the rest of Central America.
