Nicaragua needs to export more services

Nicaragua needs to change its exports in order to balance its goods and services.

The country's trade deficit is 28 percent of its gross domestic product, the highest in Central America, according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Last year, Nicaragua exported goods worth $4.6 billion, while in the services sector it exported $712 million, said the Central Bank of Nicaragua.
