Nicaragua passes $1.64 billion budget without including aid from Venezuela

Nicaragua’s National Assembly passed the 2011 budget in $1.64 billion, a 10.8 percent increase on this year’s budget.
The proposal was passed by 73 votes in a session in which the opposition asked in vain to include aid from Venezuela within the budget.
Venezuela’s aid to Nicaragua came to $1.44 billion between 2007 and this year.
