Nicaragua puts first foot forward to boost shoes

Nicaragua is hosting an investment forum to promote its shoe industry, where 55 international and 30 local companies are taking part.

Nicaragua and the rest of Central America must be promoted as an investment platform for the shoe industry, because of the advantages it offers with its free trade agreements, said Javier Chamorro, director of ProNicaragua.

The companies taking part in the forum are from the United States, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Japan and Central America.
