Nicaragua refinery

Nicaragua is seeking investment of $350 million in hydrocarbon-related projects, mainly involving the El Supremo Sueño de Bolívar refinery, located near the country's Pacific Coast.
Nicaragua has invested close to $50 million in preliminary works, related to the project, which President Daniel Ortega has said is a priority of his administration.
The refinery is expected to have a processing capacity of 150 thousand barrels per day. Nicaragua´s only other facility, the Esso refinery, has a daily capacity of 20 thousand barrels.
Nicaragua is also interested in sourcing close to $300 million in electrical generating operations, according to a report last month by the the national investment agency ProNicaragua.
