Nicaragua rejects Washington threats to scrutinize funds from World Bank

Nicaragua rejected Washington's threat to scrutinize the use of loans from the World Bank and Inter-American Bank because of doubts over the recent re-election of the president, Daniel Ortega.
"The government of Nicaragua wants people to know that Ortega was democratically elected," said Samuel Santos, the foreign minister.
Managua was responding to a US warning that the loans would be "aggressively scrutinized".
