Nicaragua reports low number of bank frauds

Nicaragua is one of the Central American countries with the lowest rates of bank frauds, said Teresa Montealegre, director of the Nicaraguan Private Banks Association.

The figures for that type of crime in Nicaragua are a stark contrast to the rest of Latin America, she added.

The association recently held its first workshop for the prevention of bank frauds, where 15 percent of the country's financial system's employees were trained.
