Nicaragua's agriculture needs $1.2 billion boost

Nicaragua's agricultural sector needs some $1.2 billion each year to make it more dynamic.

However, the sector receives $450 million from the government each year, less than half the required amount.

Last year, 11.4 percent of Nicaragua's total credit portfolio was given to the agricultural sector.
