Nicaragua’s booming free zones employ 94,500

Nicaragua’s free-zone plants employ some 94,500 people, the government says.
Exports of the free zones by July earned $978 million in exports, of which $718 million corresponded to the textile and garment industries.
In the same period of last year, total exports from the free zones came to $682 million. The 30 percent growth this year is the highest in Central America.
