Nicaragua’s coffee exports increase by 37.6 percent to $309 million

The value of Nicaragua’s coffee exports rose by 37.6 percent in the first 11 months of the 2009-2010 harvest compared with the same period a year earlier.

Exports between October of 2009 to August of this year totalled $309 million.

The increase has been attributed to improved productivity and high international prices. Coffee is Nicaragua’s leading export.
