Nicaragua’s emigrants sent home record $823 million

Nicaragua’s emigrants sent home $822.8 million last year, a 7 percent increase on 2009.

In 2009, remittances came to $768.4 million, the central bank reported.

Last year’s remittances were Nicaragua’s highest in 10 years, surpassing even the 2008 record.
