Nicaragua's exports top $2 billion through September

Between January and September this year, Nicaragua's exports reached $2.07 billion in value and 1.35 million tons in volume, generating an increase of 16.7 percent and 13.7 respectively versus the same period in 2011, the Center for Export Procedures, Cetrex, reported.

Coffee continues to be the country’s main export product with $420 million exported during the period, followed by gold with $308 million, bovine meat with $302.4 million and sugar with $164.3 million.

Nicaragua’s main export destinations were the U.S., followed by Venezuela and Canada.
