Nicaragua's hotel sector is booming

Nicaragua's hotel sector has shown sustained growth, with firms such as Intercontinental Hotel Group, IHG, eyeing investments in the Central American country.

IHG owns the Holiday Inn Express franchise, one of 11 new hotels to receive approval for construction by the Nicaraguan tourism authority.

In total, the 11 hotels represent investments worth $32.9 million.
