Nicaragua's trade deficit continues to narrow, reaching $980 million in May this year, the country's central bank reported.
The drop is due to more dynamic exports compared with the country's imports, the bank added.
From January to May, Nicaragua's exports totalled $1.12 billion, 5.9 percent more than the same period last year, while imports reached $2.1 billion, showing a 0.9 percent growth.
