Nicaragua to have airport to promote tourism in Ometepe island amid lake

With the aim of developing tourism, an international airport is to be constructed on the island of Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua.

The airport will be built beginning in December. Investment is calaculated at $8 million.

The 1,500 meters runway will be capable of handling AN-26 aircraft.
