Nicaragua tops region for most expensive energy

Nicaragua is the most expensive country in Central America for electricity costs, a World Economic Forum study revealed, with energy costing on average $0.19 per kilowatt.

The country was placed at number five in the world on the 2013 Global Energy Architecture Performance Index.

El Salvador is the second in the region and ninth in the world, with an average price of $0.16 per kilowatt.
