Nicaragua wants to regulate construction

Nicaragua's private enterprise council will ask the Government to create a National Construction Council.

The aim is to regulate that sector's practices and draw up a strategic development plan.

The idea came up during an industry forum, which showed that 80 percent of the country's buildings fail to comply with technical regulations, said the private enterprise council's president, José Adán Aguerri.
