Monday, December 19, 2011
Nicaragua will attract $900 million of direct foreign investment this year, an 80 percent increase on 2010.
Javier Chamorro, head of the state promotional agency ProNicaragua, admitted that the authorities had earlier hoped for $1.04 billion this year in foreign direct investment, but failed to achieve the goal.
"We're coming from a very low point in oiur economy, but we're taking the right steps to make sure we improve," he said.
