Nicaraguan builders eye Canal project

Nicaraguan construction firms would be able to develop several infrastructure projects surrounding the proposed Inter-oceanic Canal, said Benjamin Lanzas, president of the country's construction chamber.
"There is a need for infrastructure around the canal, as Chinese business leaders and workers will need homes, restaurants, hotels and hospitals, among others," Lanzas said.
The canal project, a joint venture between the Nicaraguan government and Hong-Kong based HKND Group, will cost an estimated $40 billion.
