Nicaraguan businesses' Easter sales hit by quakes
Thursday, April 24, 2014
Nicaraguan businesses sold only half of the $60 million they had forecast for the Easter holiday season.
The main reason for the poor performance was the state of emergency declared on the pacific coast following a series of earthquakes, according to the president of the country's trade and services chamber.
Some businesses in that area lost up to half a million dollars, the chamber added.
