Nicaraguan chicken farmers report 17 percent growth in output despite a 50 percent rise in inputs and 20,000 boxes of eggs that are being smuggled in from Honduras.
Egg production rose from 32,000 to 46,000 this year- Despite the increase in output, prices of corn, sorghum and soya have all risen sharply.
