Thursday, November 8, 2012

Companies operating in Nicaragua's free trade zone created more than 9,300 jobs last year, bringing the total to 100,374, statistics from the Nicaragua Central Bank revealed.

The number represents 17 percent of the total number of employees in the country, and authorities estimate that by the end of the year the number will be 110,000.

It represents a weekly $5 million boost to the economy in salaries, the country's private sector authority said.
