No delays on Nicaragua Canal says President

The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, and Wang Jing, the Chinese businessman behind HKND, have announced the Nicaragua Canal project will start this year.

The comment comes after Manuel Coronel Kautz, president of the Nicaragua Canal Authority, said earlier this month that the project will start in 2015.

Ortega awarded the project to HKND, who will construct and administer the $40-billion project.
