New oil firms could enter Colombia for the first time as the South American nation prepares a tender for 97 oil blocks.
Norway's Statoil and Canada's Heritage are among the 38 approved firms to take part in the tender, known as Ronda Colombia 2014.
Another firm approved by Colombian authorities is Argentina's Medanito, a company with links to Shell and EOG and operating in the Vaca Muerta, Sierras Blancas and Aguila Mora blocks.
