A World Bank survey has revealed that the use of bribes to facilitate business is common in Central America.

One company in three admits to having used bribes in Guatemala, the survey says. The results are similar in Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador.

In Central America, Costa Rica and Panama have the lowest percentages of companies that have admitted using bribes, respectively 20 and 15 percent.
