One in three Costa Rican workers is 'informal'

A third of Costa Rica's workforce is in the informal sector, and the proportion is growing.

Some 74,000 workers joined the informal sector last year alone.

The informal sector is growing because it offers less red tape, and provides more ready money than formal employment.
