Online shopping revs up in Guatemala

Guatemala's e-commerce continues to grow, and now some 5 million citizens shop online, according to a study by CPX.

From 2012 to 2013, online shopping volume was about 14 percent, but this year is expected to grow to 27 percent, said CPX President Rodrigo Cordón.

The main reason for the growth is a change in shopping culture in the country, as well as the availability of more credit and mobile apps.
