Pacific Alliance seeks stronger influence

The Pacific Alliance, the regional trade block whose members are Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Chile, is seeking to increase its influence through agreements with other blocs, Mexico's Minister for Economy, Idelfonso Guajardo, said.
The alliance will hold a meeting in Mexico this week, where leaders will discuss ways to cooperate more with observer countries.
El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras are observer countries, of which Panama and Costa Rica have most advanced towards becoming full members.
