Pacific Rim clash with El Salvador ends in a draw

Canadian mining company Pacific Rim will not be able to file a lawsuit against El Salvador under Cafta, a World Bank panel declared.

Pacific Rim wants to claim millions of dollars in compensation for losses as a result of the Salvadoran government not issuing the permits needed to exploit the El Dorado project.

However, both sides will further discuss the issue under El Salvador's investment law, a process the World Bank will follow closely.
