Pacific Rubiales gets green light for Colombia blocks

Canada's Pacific Rubiales said it received environmental permits to operate two blocks in Colombia's Meta and Sucre provinces.

The National Environmental Licenses Authority issued the permits, opening the way for operations to begin in the CPE-6 and Guama blocks, the company said.

"We are pleased with this license which will provide such an important source of revenue for the company, our partner and for Colombia, in the form of royalties, taxes and spin-off economic activity," Pacific Rubiales CEO Ronald Pantin said.
