Panama agrees to amend rules on imports to establish zero tariff on computers

The Panama Cabinet Council has approved a decree amending a group of national import tariffs.
 
The proposal, presented by the minister of trade and industry, aims to unify the majority of products under a single tariff, reduce costs and clarify customs procedures.
 
A zero import tariff is being imposed on computers, printers and ink, will apply on items not exceeding a price of $1,000.
