Panama Airport logistics center

Panama’s Tocumen International Airport is investing $12 million in a logistics area aimed at attracting time-sensitive light industry, including labeling and packaging of perishable products, and assembly of advanced technological devices.

The 18-hectare project, located on airport property 20 kilometers from Panama City, includes roads, lighting, water and sewage, and parking areas.

Building a factory or warehouse will be the responsibility of an individual company, which can have a 20-year concession to use the facilities of the area, including access to cargo terminals.

Tocumen, which has more connections to Latin America and the Caribbean than any other airport, each month handles some 12,000 tonnes of merchandise.
