Panama and China face up for free trade talks

The key financial and services sectors will be debated in the upcoming fifth round of talks on a free trade accord between Panama and China.

No date has been set so far for the round. There are complications in the upcoming diaries of both sides because of the Chinese New Year and the presence of the Pope at the Roman Catholic World Youth Congress.

Alberto Arias Alemán, Panama's chief negotiator emphasized the importance of the financial and servicies sectors. But he added that he would prefer to see more issues relating to logistics and markets.
