Panama and Costa Rica lead in bank deposits

Panama and Costa Rica are the regional leaders in the number of deposits and bank services available to the public, according to the a recent study by the International Monetary Fund.

In terms of bank deposits, Costa Rica leads with 1,293 bank accounts for every 1,000 adults, followed by Panama with 1248.

In the number of bank branches available to customers, Guatemala was the regional leader with 37 for every 100,000 inhabitants.
