The Governments of Panama and Israel agreed to continue talks towards a free trade agreement, the Panamanian Trade Ministry said.
About 65 percent of Israel's trade is with countries with whom it does not have free trade accords.
A strategic alliance with Israel would help Panama with innovation, information technology and technology for the agriculture sector, said Panama's Trade Minister Melitón Arrocha.
