Panama approves record-breaking $16 billion budget
The government of Panama approved a record-breaking amount for next year's budget, in excess of $16 billion.
Some $25 million of the total are planned to be used for a new program called "Guardian Angel" which will give $80 a month to people with severe disability.
While members of the opposition claim the amount will increase the country's debt, the Ministry of Economy, Frank de Lima, said it is realistic and will help the continuity of important development and infrastructure projects.
