Panama asks Colombia to eliminate re-export tariff

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

Panama business leaders have asked Colombia to eliminate tariffs in shoes and garments re-exported from the Colón Free Trade Zone.

Although Colombia has lowered the tariff, "it doesn't solve the problem," former president of the users' association of Colón Severo Sousa said.

The tariff continues to be an obstacle to getting trade flowing back to previous levels, Sousa said.
