Panama boom marred by poverty

Inequality in Panama ranks higher in Latin America only ahead of Brazil and Honduras, says a report from the Inter-American Development Bank.

Between 2004 and 2018, however, Panama the country had average annual growth of 7 percent. As a result it is today one of the three countries with the highest per capita income along with Chile and Uruguay, Newsroom Panama reports.
