Panama Canal revenue may fund social security

Juan Carlos Varela, the president of Panama, said that he will call a national dialogue on the financial crisis facing Social Security, saying the problem must be addressed soon.

He also said that revenue from the expanded Panama Canal could be used to address the issue. The expansion is expected to be completed next year.
